I received a new computer running Windows 10 and the Wireless LAN adapter worked fine out of the box. I restarted the computer to enter UEFI so that I can create Supervisor and User passwords for the firmware. I set the User password to activate on both entering UEFI and starting Windows.
After I did this, my WLAN adapter stopped working. I reconfigured the system so that the UEFI password was only used to access UEFI and not the Windows OS. This allowed my WLAN adapter to work again.
I’m not sure why this was causing errors because I enabled BIOS/UEFI passwords on system startup for 2 different personal laptops and I have never lost connection to my WLAN adapter.
